Today is a Public Holiday

I slept on my arm last night and today woke up with a sore arm. I usually sleep on my arm and it is usually fine.
My insides and the roof of my mouth are hurting this morning. I ate a large mexican pizza and 1 garlic damper with pepperoni last night and I must of ate too much hot.

Today is a public holiday for the Queens Birthday.

Australia (except Western Australia, which has a Foundation Day a week earlier), has the Official Birthday on the second Monday in June and observes it as a public holiday.

I wish my calendar told me how old she is/was turning this year, it would give the holiday more validity in my head I think. The current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, was born on 21 April 1926. This means she is 81. The average life expectancy of people in the United Kingdom is 77.6 so congratulations Elizabeth on exceeding this age. Queen Elizabeth was born on the 21st of April, this means that she is a Taurus.

Here are some characteristics of people who are Taurus (April 20 to May 20)
  • They are more than averagely amorous and sensually self-conscious, but sexually straightforward and not given to experiment.
  • Physically they will be inclined to have a rounded shape, which will be most noticeable of their shoulders, and this is particularly the case if they are female.
  • Taurus is the second sign of the Zodiac and associated with material pleasure.
  • Mentally, they are keen-witted and practical more often than intellectual, but apt to become fixed in their opinions through their preference for following accepted and reliable patterns of experience.

Words used to describe Taurus
Stubborn, cautious, materialistic, conventional, persistent, stable, industrious, sensual, dependable and placid.

Other Famous Taurus
* William Shakespeare (23 April 1564)
* Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889)
* Michelle Pfeiffer (29 April 1957)
* David Beckham (02 May 1975)

I think there is certainly something to Astrological Descriptions. There are observable similarities with people who are born under the same sign. I do not understand why this would be the case though.

It's nice to have a day off for the Queen's birthday. I love that birthdays are celebrated. It is so fun. It is a favourable custom and the rules are clear.

It is customary in many cultures to celebrate the anniversary of one's birthday, for example by having a birthday party with family and/or friends. Gifts are often given to the person celebrating the birthday. It is also customary to treat people specially on their birthday, either generally acceding to their wishes, or subjecting them to a rite of transition.

Celebrating birthdays is a very old custom. Ancient people did not know the exact day of their birth, yet measured time by using the moon and the seasons. As humans began to learn more about the earth's natural time gage, calendars were developed. Calendars made it easy for people to keep track of and celebrate important events each year. Birthdays were some of the special events that people noted on their calendars.

The most common birthday in the USA is October 5, whereas the least common birthday is May 22.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate birthdays, considering their origins to be pagan festivals along with Christmas and Easter.

My feet are getting cold and I should really shower and have breakfast now.
