"Tell him he's dreaming"

Remember the days when everyone used to quote lines from “The Castle”.? That shit got annoying real quick and I am glad those days are gone now. It was like bringing up lines from the Castle in everyday situations and conversations was somehow in everybody’s collective unconscious and so It was normal to crack out a line or two because everybody did it and therefore you could too and secure yourself a chuckle and/or the acknowledgement that you were “hip to the scene”. This is also the case with Seinfeld references, whenever somebody brings up Seinfeld in everyday conversation that shit annoys the hell outta me. Oh its Seinfeld, everybody likes Seinfeld… hey doesn’t that remind you of that episode where George pisses off the postman and so can’t receive any mail and then Kramer discovers he enjoy's inserting Jerry’s toothebrushes up his arse, ahhhh Kramer, what a kooky character.Shut up, that shit is weak, no more Seinfeld references please…. Ever!

I have been wanting to bring back some trend from 1995 recently or some grossly past-day hairstyle or point of fashion. Pretend you are living back in 1995 and follow everytrend from that period, that would be fun. Ive started to grow a seedy mustache this last week for fun because Ive seen it around here and there lately in a Geoff Rowley skateboard ad and in this von zipper ad in Monster Children oh and in the Timo Maas film clip, “First Day”. Moustaches are great, even seedy ones. Oh yeah and an old school buddy Daniel M was sporting one a few weeks back and it looks really good/funny/yeah.
Think about it, how many young people today do you see with intentional mustaches? That’s right you don’t, you may be saying, “well that’s because they look dumb or wrong”, my point exactly join me won’t you and next time you go to shave, skip above your lip.

Nike Paul Rodriguez Zoom Air Low

I got the latest issue of Monster Children today from Tea Tree Plaza, its issue #9 and features an oh so sexy cover. This mag is soooo good. The writing is so great and is a pleasure to read, I get so much out of it and I recommend you pick yourself up a copy. (So count: X4)

Heres an excerpt from it, describing new flat bottomed tacos:
"Can you swap your sponsor child? I have a little girl in Kenya that I would'nt mind trading for the cute little bastard on the new taco ad? Smart little prick came up with the idea for the amazing new Flash Bottom Taco's. He's made Taco Tuesday at my joint a whole lot fatter, more than I can say for my skinny friend in Kenya, who won't even send me a letter. Probably ate the pen."

page 34 features various aricles of cloth. Damn those are the best... these shoes... Nike Paul Rodriguez Zoom Air Low $179.95
I vow to get these shoes, here they be:
A Shoe Fetish is a wonderful thing
"They will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine."

Oh yeah i also secured my copy of "We Can Be Heroes" on dvd today from the ABC shop in Tea Tree Plaza. Ive decided to drop locations and names specific to my geometric location as this blog is featured in the Adelaide blogs directory and I myself find it nice when I read an Adelaide blog and someone for example talks about well i dont know a club or the malls balls.
Anyway back to the story at hand. Got to fill in the gaps on all the episodes Ive missed. Funny Funny Funny, as I watched I wished my Dad and sister both in other rooms at the time would watch it with me so they could get in on the hillarity, so I laughed extra loud.. in hope they would want to see what all the fuss was about. As my Dad walked by the TV he took a glance as he is accustomed to do and stopped for a while. "It's a bit weird isnt it?", he said to me, guessing he was referring to the male actor (Chris Lilley) playing the role of a woman, I tell him, "this 1 guy plays all the characters" as if this would connect what I thought he was thinking about it with my acknowledgement of this fact and then this would help him see past it. I don't understand why some people dwell on the weirdness or content of such comedy and not just see that its an actor portraying something and get enjoyment from it, oh well THEIR LOSS!, no sweat off my sack.

I Heart the Internet

I the Internet

I found this really great website tonight, its called Music Map - http://www.music-map.com/ What you do is type in an artist and it brings up a floating list of similar bands.

I downloaded the latest Limewire tonight. Its so much faster than the previous version I had installed which was sooo slow. When I would open my previous version of Limewire it would slow my whole computer down, this new version (the free one) is fast.

With this new usable Limewire, I have been going nuts on the acquisitions.
Heres a list of songs u need: acquire them today.

Death Cab For Cutie - Soul Meets Body
Architecture In Helsinki - Do The Whirlwind
XTC - Dear God
XTC - Making Plans For Nigel
Melotron - Kein Problem
The Libertines – Last Post on the Bugle
The Libertines - The Ha Ha Wall
The Motors – Airport
The Motors – Forget About You
Patrick Wolf – The Libertine
Patrick Wolf – Paris
Patrick Wolf – To the Lighthouse
Patrick Wolf – Tristan
Patrick Wold – The Childcatcher
Graham Coxon -  Spectacular
Ladytron – Discotraxx
Ladytron – He Took Her to a Movie
Golden Boy feat. Miss Kitten - Rippin Kittin(Ellen Alien Mix)
Wolfsheim – Once in a Lifetime
Bright Eyes - Lover I Dont Have To Love
Bright Eyes - Bowl Of Oranges
Journey - Anyway You Want It
Journey - Someday love will find you
Journey – Wheels in the sky
Morrissey - Irish Blood, English Heart
Morrissey - The First of The Gang To Die
Puffy Amiyumi - Friends Forever
Puffy AmiYumi - Hi Hi
Armand Van Helden - Into Your Eyes (Radio Edit)

Ive really been getting into music from the UK lately. So many good artists and comedy comes out of the UK it makes me want to visit it and see what the deal with it is. UK comedy is sooo funny, Little Brittain, The Office, The Fast Show, Monty Python for starters.. I love UK music and comedy, man.. along with UK I also like most music that comes out of New York and also stacks of good bands are coming out of Canada too at the moment it seems. Also any music with strings is really getting me pumped at the moment, bands like Cursive and The Arcade Fire.. and any band which uses strings in there songs.. it adds a whole new depth to the music and takes it to a new level.

Flash Animation - An Emo Tale

Created this flash *ahem* animation tonight.. entitled "An Emo Tale".. inspired by the massive increase in emo's congregating outside of Borders and the Malls Balls in Rundle Mall, Adelaide.

Passing time

A post while Dreamweaver 8 downloads.

This next scenario is completely fictional:
I walk into my local shops tonight and head for the dairy isle where the milk is, this tall thin stick of a woman walks up to me, were talking like 2 cms from my face.. .. she stares me straight in the eyes..although it feels like she is looking into my soul. Her eyes are glazed and her breath smells like the ink of a whiteboard marker. She says to me, "Charlie how your angels get down like that?". I stepped back trying to escape from her terrible breath then with a puzzled look on my face said "lady, what are you on about?".. she gives me a strained look and steps forward again and says the same thing but slower and emphasising the words "down like that". Now i am really confused. "Look, I have to go get some milk before the store closes" I say to her in my best serious voice. She then grabs my hand forcefully with her nails digging into my skin, I tried to shake her off but she grabbed my arm and a frightened deranged look came across her face. She leans even closer to my face so her forehead is touching mine and repeats, "Charlie.... how your ANGELS get DOWN like THAT?". At this point I kicked her in her knee caps, pulled out my AK and went postal on her ass. No body quotes Destiny child to me while im shopping for milk i say to her lifeless body at which point she melted into a puddle of clag....like you see in the movies..but it was clag. I then wished that I had come up with something a little more witty to say at the time but decided that I would think of something better then when I would come to retell the story to family / friends and co-workers say the new line. I then walked up the aisle trying to avoid the bats, when i came to the frozen hash browns I opened the door and stepped inside. The chill made me pass out.

Weekend

Changed room around tonight. Like it so much better now. With new arrangements It feels like I can stay up late with no consequence and I also now have desire to watch TV which have not been doing much lately after got foxtel disconnected have no desire to watch any tv... until now. Words may come out disjointed tonight, but its just the way its going to go down. I lay it out for ya'll to play it out.. meh watever.. Was that from "Be Cool"? possibly...wat are u saying! no its from "Starsky and Hutch". Sidenote: I liked John Travolta's character in that movie (Be Cool) and thought Andre 3000 was funny and good actor. Ben Stiller cracks me up. The scene were he thinks the cocaine is sugar and so he puts it in his coffee and then he's all hypo and buzzing is hillarious.

On the list of things to do are finish reading "The Great Gatsby" which Courtney lent me. It's pretty good book, parts in that book blow my brain. Parts where characters are being described, the insight into human behaviour/character and whatnot is so good and described so well. Unlike the description I just wrote then.

Hmmmm nothing much to blog about tonight despite busy packed weekend. Sat hung out with Sara we hired dvd's got "I am Sam", "About Schmidt", "Arthur" and Sara got Friends first season dvd's. I really liked About Schmidt and am going to buy on dvd, Jack Nicholson is a really good actor.. i recommend you see this movie. Went to this Adelaide's biggest BBQ today at the South Australian cricket grounds. Its this event which is BBQ lunch and auction and money goes to the Variety club charity. It was really fun. Took loads of photos with the work camera. One photo in particular I liked of this really drunk man in his early 50's probably who was totally dissinterested in everything going on around him. His body language and mannerisms were off the charts negative/dissinterested. I will get the photo of him at work tommorrow and post it. A lot of middle aged people. This one really nice lady who was on the committee of the whole event started a conversation whilst lining up for lunch meal with me,Anton and Graeme and was a really nice lady. She directed a comment of "Are you involved or have just coming along" at me and i looked at Anton because he could better put into words that we (our group Bridgehead) are sponsors and what not. This lady was nice. I hope to one day be as kool as this lady was. I like to look around at everyone at these sorts of events, I sometimes have to stop myself from looking around at everyone and stuff because I dont want to stare or be rude. I think I took lots of interesting photos today with work camera... tried to capture moments.. characters... thoughts if you will. I work with kool people.

Time to go read book ..

If you are interested here are 12 mobile photos i added to my moblog today, taken at Adelaide's Biggest Backyard Barbie or watever its called: http://nathankowald.textamerica.com/

You Send It

Tonight I came across this cool website - www.yousendit.com

What "yousendit" allows you to do is send files up to 1GB to someone. What it does is uploads the file to the yousendit server and then emails a link to your desired recipient which they then click on to download the file. Files are kept on the yousendit server for seven days.

fingerless gloves

We're not the type of band that's like, "We're gonna make something that sounds like this." That's not my vision. I get little hints of sound and there's stuff floating around. Régine and I were driving and we heard this little solo organ record that was on some classical station that sounded so amazing. I just hear little things and file them away for the future. - Win Butler (The Arcade Fire)

Style

Neil sent me this picture, a Nintendo Powerglove advertisement from 1989.
The style is rad .. I want a pair of those sunnies and that hairstyle is great. The circa 1980's blue bolt electricity thing is great. This needs to be replicated in some form or another today.

Stuff

This new thing of setting alarm for 7:00am every morning is not working for me. Used to set alarm for 7:30 that was perfect. Alarm rings, instantly awake, get up without any thought, shower. 7:00am Alarm rings, still tired, thought, wake up at 8:00pm, crap 15 mins to shower, eat and get up.

My perceptions were askew today, blurred by feeling not thought. I get annoyed sometimes when I have to alter my tone of voice or delivery to get certain outcomes. Oh If i say it like this im going to get this response dammit that unnedging, unnatural and annoying having to stop and have to think about how I should say something. Its like when you say something in a tone of voice which says "Im an idiot" you get the response in one way or another yes you are an idiot. Automatic responses of people on auto pilot. This is the automatic response of the majority of people its just annoying when on days when delivery is hard to control it means having to stop and that stops the flow. The thing I hate about this is someone might ask me something like "has this job been done?". I think has it been done?, I honestly can't remember, oh shit I "should" remember this, this person is going to think i have a bad memory, huge emotion which blocks out all thought, my response will be fueled by this overwhelming thought/feeling of "Dammit i cant remember, sorry" and this will be delivered with the feeling of why the hell cant i remember, im an idiot. This in turns gets a mirrored response of gees your forgetfull, which then completes the circle of "oh i must be forgetfull". I get annoyed that people automatically mirror my response without trying to understand where I'm coming from, especially if judgements are made... It's like nooooo, your not understanding the whole picture.

One thing Ive learned from dreaming everynight and remembering them is that perception is everything. In dreams especially it is all about how you percieve a situation, you alter your perceptions, your whole dream reality changes to suit that perception. Let me give you an example. You are dreaming about say walking in town, you are overwhelmed by fear and expect something bad to happen to you, it does. Or on the other end of the spectrum, you are dreaming about something, you just know something will happen or know if you do something it will result in something good and because of this perception it does. I guess you could call this expectation also. You get what you expect. In "real" life this is also the case. Have you ever in some point of your life thought something like oh im such a a loser i suck and therefore because you think this, people treat you like it. Or say are like really afraid in general and bad things happen to you. I have noticed these things and therefore now consciously make an effort to block out being afraid of things because bad things will only result from being in this state. Like attracts like.

This post has made things clearer in my head and this is why i blog.

Fun Links

WebDog sent me these Links:

- Passed Out Wookies
- Random Vin Diesel Fact
- Date Lance

Excerpts from "Date Lance" below:

Jeff Kearl, co-worker and chief marketing officer, LogoWorks
I've known Lance longer than anyone on Team DateLance and it's baffled me why this guy can't get the deal done. I mean, he's got it all. Good looks, great personality, a Harvard MBA? And the guy has got some skills on the basketball court. I don't know about his dating skills, but DateLance should certainly help him hone them.

Levi Miller, Developer Extraordinaire, LogoWorks
Being on Team DateLance has been a great opportunity and a great honor because this is one classy guy (who hopefully has a sense of humor to match). He doesn't know it yet, but this is going to change his life (and hopefully find him a wife). I look forward to working on any other projects that come my way that involve hooking up guys like Lance.
