1) The screen width is very tight, 480 pixels I think. Once you've got a brandmark top left and some navigation in there don't expect any space to spare. Consider small pixel font nav graphics to maximise this. Keep them trim. Every pixel counts!

For ages now I have wanted to implement
my audioscrobbler last played song list into my website but didn't know how. I looked into it today and below are the best methods I found for displaying your audioscrobbler last played tracks on a website. The main source for info on how to do this can be found at:
http://www.audioscrobbler.net/wiki/Most methods are done with a php script and an include which means that you need to have a php enabled server to display your tracks, other ways take your last played songs RSS feed and display it, or theres this really simple code (Method 1) which will display your last played song, but looks kinda lame.
Method 1.ScrobblerSig:
http://www.denness.net/ss.htm
How to:Place this code into your website/blog (replace n8kowald with your audioscrobbler username:
<img src="http://www.denness.net/scrobblersig.php?username=n8kowald">Pro's: easy to useNo PHP scripts neededCan use as forum signature (alt code)Cons:looks kinda lameThis version displays only 1 last played songlimited customisation besides colours
Method 2.RecentTracksOnYourBlog:
http://www.audioscrobbler.net/wiki/RecentTracksOnYourBlog
How to:Follow the instructions listed on
this website.
You will have to sign up to Feed Digest (FREE), which will display your feed as a html file that you can use and format to display your recently played songs.
Pros:Simple to set upCan define how many songs you want to display (Max of 10)The songs link to the audioscrobbler page info about the song (very kool)Can format the look, render as a list etcCons:Have to sign up with FeedDigest (not a big deal, took me 20 seconds)Because it works by displaying an RSS feed its not a real time list and subject to caching :(
Method 3.TextyScrobb:
http://samuellame.com/textyscrobb/Bloodhound Gang - I`m The Least You Could Do How to: Download the php script and readme file from the above link and follow the directions. TextyScrobb uses a php script and an include to display your most recently played song as text. Simple to set up and include however requires you have a php enabled server to place the php script onto.
Pros:Simple to set upminamalisticCons:Boringneed php enabled serverDisplays as text (no links to audioscrobbler pagelimited to last song (no list)
Method 4.Last.fm Info with PHP
http://www.canspice.org/index.php/lastfm-recently-played-php-code/How to:Download the php script and upload it onto your php server, now add an include for the script.
add the following line to the file that you want your songs displayed in:
<?php include(’lastfm_info.php’); ?>
Then, in that same file, put the following line where you want your songs displayed:
<?php display_lastfm_info( username, number_of_items, list, prefix, suffix, stats ); ?>
Change the variables to suit your preferences. Pretty similar to the above method but allows greater customisation and displays multiple songs.
Pros:Great customisationMultiple song list (editable)Relatively easy to implementCons:Basic knowledge of php/variables beneficialNeeds a php enabled server

Had a wiked weekend jam packed with fun and happy times. Friday night Dan and I went into the city and watched Doom which I really enjoyed, there is one really, really funny bit in it where The Rock is giving an order to one of his soldiers who is opposing him and they have this "stare off" it cracked me up hard, the rock does this hell sketchy thing with his eyes that you just have to see. Watch the movie if only to see this part. After movie Dan and I went to shotz where a few of my other friends were going also, my other friend Daniel was down from the goldcoast, was great to see him again. Dan and I played some pool - 1 game a piece. Sat went over Sara's house then into the city for a friends birthday party at cargo, that was pretty kool, saw some people I hadnt seen in a while, which is always nice, got pretty drunk and had wiked dancing fun, after cargo Sara and I and David, Richard and Steve went to Shotz which was pretty good. Then today I went to see a movie with Sara at the
palace nova on rundle street, saw "
Me and You and Everyone We Know" (R18+). There wasnt much of a story line, but I really enjoyed it because of the characters and moments in the film were good, it was also shot really well, the angles and composure and stuff.
Checked out the new Ipod video's in Next Byte, damn they are a sexy unit. The video playback is good and its so light and compact, the pics also display really well due to the higher resolution in the screen. Reece got one on Friday, dammit im jelous, im betting im not gonna hear the end of it either :) haha.
When walking around in town I often like to pretend im from the future but travelled back to the present day, I look around and notice all the people, clothes, technology and try to role play the thoughts i would have from a future persons point of view. This is fun, I recommend you try it out. I really enjoy pretending, seeing things from multiple perspectives, I don't really enjoy being adult and responsibility and seriousness and current topical conversations.
Met a few girls on the weekend, friends of my friends and I never know what to say to them to break the ice/develop a repore or whatever. Something to ponder.
Have 2moro off, dammit should stop writing facts nobody wants to read facts, they want emotion, wit, opinion, satire...???? so on that note goodbye my precious lovelies.
Ive been noticing lately in the past week that Im getting better in terms of ideas and ways to improve stuff. I love making stuff easier, I love organising things and improving systems. Driving home I get stacks of ideas about how I want my website redesign to be. Ok what i could do is have a "So you have the internet" section which has articles with pictures yes yes pictures mmmmmm about software and websites you NEED to know about. This page would be perfect for a person isnt up with "it" i can say, hey ok check this out, download every piece of this software and follow the steps and you will be loving it. Id love to somehow incorporate my last.fm latest songs played list onto my website that would be koooool. And stacks of other ideas which would be good, like a psp page with links, apps, hacks, everything that took me a while to figure out.
I had an idea for a program that would basically crawl through appointed url's say you have a links page on your website that you always want to be up to date, this program would crawl through all your links to make sure no links were broken, there are sites on the net that do just this, sites like
www.dead-links.com that crawl a selected url but this program you could add mulitple url's to "watch" and it would report back if any links were broken. Dammit on writing this out this sounds like such a shit idea, at the time I had it, it seemed good, maybe there was more to the idea, can't remember right now, oh well.
I come home and for some reason never feel like doing the things that i SHOULD be doing, things like learning php, reading "the richest man in babylon", organising stuff and planning stuff. Damn i love the act of writing down intentions for the future. I believe and know from experience that once you intend to do / find out about something then you will get the answers your looking for, but first you have to put those intentions out there. Try it out, it works. Thats another thing Ive been meaning to do is research about beliefs as I think beliefs are huge and altering your beliefs and seeing things from different perspectives is so beneficial. I think about stuff like this all the time, if something happens during the day I may ask myself how it relates to these rules and stuff.
*interlude* my phone does not have the word "boner" in its predictive text, it does now.
That's all.. damn that was a nothing blog i blah blah bleeding blah, im in blah at the moment so what else would come out.
Ok heres some links to some content I found interesting and useful today:
PSP Icon Trick -
http://www.sahaskatta.com/html/psp.html
If you have a psp, you can change the disk icon by putting an .ico file and an autorun script in the root level of your psp, you can also name your psp so instead of coming up as a removable disk you will see it with a psp icon and the name you give it.

Holy shit RSS feeds rule, I love bloglines so much, all this new information and pictures daily in an easy to read interface, everybody should use bloglines its simply a must have.
I started making another song tonight, only just started, damn im loving making music with FL Studio, if you dont already use it, download it and have a play.
download new song here. I called it "Cards Faced Down".
This is a song that I've started making with FL Studio. FL Studio rules so hard, thanks to Matt for hooking me up with it and all the samples and the know how.
This is what Ive done so far:
Download songP.S. I found another good band tonight using
music map, band = "Mew"
Havent posted in a while, havent really been inspired and or can't really be bothered lately. This is what I got up to on the weekend:
Saturday afternoon went to the Hives signing at Big Star Records blah blah you know what I don't even feel like going into it. I got my
Tyrannosaurus Hives cd signed by all the
guys from the Hives.
Picked up Sara then went to the Thebarton theatre where met up with David, Lee, Karl, Jarrod, Zane and Caly. The D4 were the supporting band and I thought I didnt really like them but they were actually really good. Thebarton's a great venue, the lighting was good and the sound was excellent. Next the hives came on, they flat out killed the place. Howling Pelle was so good, interacting and feeding off the crowds energy pulling off the classic cool and cocky attitude they are known for. All the songs were really good and the sound was amazing. Such entertainers. Anyway so that was the best concert Ive ever been to and I highly recommend that you see them live.

Got the Architecture in Helsinki - In case we die album today after thrashing out the mp3's on my computer decided to make the purchase. Yeah anyway um all this be fact orientated and rather plain so shall end it off here.
Oh Reece and myself are doing this creative writing story excersize where he writes a paragraph then I write the next paragraph and so on and so forth until we have created a story. This is what we have so far:
http://www.schaefer.id.au/shortStory/. Props to Reece for setting it all up and making it look nice.
I Lost so much sleep on the weekend. Sat morning was woken up by the annoying sound of a bird which i want to slaughter with a meat cleaver and a lot of light coming into sara's room and today morning ditto only got about 4 hours sleep total due to the light waking me up at 6 so will probably be feeling it tomorrow at work.
Oh shit yeah another reason I wanted to blog was I found this wicked band. They are called, "The Knife" there website is here:
http://www.theknife.net/mainpage.htmlThey are so on my wavelength love them i saw a clip of there's called "You take my breath away" and I didn't want to like them but it was impossible, the poppiness and electro, synthy sounds won me over, now im hooked. The only thing is I cant find their mp3's anywhere. Downloaded their film clip and sample mp3's from their site and been listening to them over and over, will definately have to pick up their album sometime sooooon. The Knife are a brother/sister duo from Stockholm in Sweden. Dammit sweden yeah!!! heres an excerpt on them taken from their website
A brother and sister duo (Karin and Olof) from Stockholm in Sweden, they claim their music – which is a glorious blend of melodic electro-pop, machine-made rhythms and dark, curveball twists – is nothing more than pop, yet their songs speak of an informed and subversive political agenda. They refuse to play live - but don’t think this is a bold statement - and deride rock’n’roll for being outdated.
I love this style of music.
Oh yeah another thing that happened on the weekend was I went of Jarrod's house who is a friend of David's, he lives out of the city. And I needed to go take a urinate so I ask where the toilet is, follow the directions and find the toilet. I step into the toilet space and cant find any light switch, the room is dark and i have to feel my way to the toilet basin and kneel down to avoid piss showering all over his floor. So im taking a slash and suddently the hallway light outside the toilet comes on, oh must be jarrod or his housemate I think so shut the toilet door so as not to be seen taking a slash, anyway the toilet door has slats and is seethrough and then all of a sudden the hallway light turns off, but theres no one even there. I thought hmmm thats kinda odd. Walk outside and ask Jarrod if he turned the hallway light on he goes nah i was out here all the time, i tell him what happens and he tells me he has been told the street is haunted. So that was my very first ghost experience, well it may have been who's to know, it was kinda unneasy at the time. I hate toilets and rooms where u go in and the light switch is not in the most logical place and you have to search for it.
I just went to get minimum chips for tea tonight and as I was leaving the chip store i noticed a very dirty white ute, and written across the middle panel of it was the best, most creative "wash me" message ive ever seen. Someone had written,
"I wish my girlfriend was this dirty".
Then as I was exiting the car park, I saw some graffiti written with chalk in big letters on the brick wall. It said, "God Saves All" - COL 1:21 (or similar). Is this a "new" hip tactic to convert "sinners", bible verse graffiti? Sure it wasn't written with a paint can, but it was pretty damn big. Come on kiddies, youth group leaders, you can do better than chalked letters? Give us some thought provoking pieces, im sure the tag "WWJD" is not taken. Hmmmmm WWJD?.. what would Jesus do i wonder if he was alive today? Would he use this exciting attention getting medium that is street art/graffiti and go around spreading the word this way?
What is up with (lil) Bow Wow's hair?
Reheated Pizza from the night before for Breakfast is the best.
My sister found my Mum's journal from we she was probably 18 or so and at the end of just about all her journal's she wrote. "Oh Boy!". In her journal she writes about trivial things she did that day oh and if she spoke to her boyfriend at the time, "John" on the phone or not. I wonder if my Dad has even seen this journal.
Whenever I wake up tired and go have a shower I always get lines from songs stuck in my head and these lines repeat over and over and over and over until i snap out of it and realise ive been repeating this bit in my head for a few minutes now. Today it was "You probably think this song is about you, your so vein". I think i was singing this in my head because for some reason I was looking in the mirror heaps before my shower checking out my moustache growth and how I need to excersize more. Along with bits of songs, when im real tired and am in the shower my thoughts are going at crazy speeeds, If i was talking them aloud as they came Id sound like one of those announcers who do the horse and greyhound races, what are they called? Anyway its like when im tired and have a shower my head has to be filled with thoughts upon thoughts upon thoughts and then I try to snap out of it.
Had one of those "epic" dreams last night. Dreamt that for some reason or another Bush was blowing up all the buildings and skyscrapers in the city. I was in one and felt it shake and quickly escaped and got out, only just escaping. The rest of the dream was me running around the city trying to get away from any tall buildings and find "land" if you will so I wouldnt be crushed and killed.
Off to go do some looking (gold mining) in some local opshops.
Steve took lots of pictures on Saturday night - Lee and David's joint birthday party.
They can be viewed here:

I acquired the new Franz Ferdinand album tonight and I like it. Have only listened to the whole album once so don't know it well but first impressions are positive, track 1 "The Fallen" is really good. In other music news, Karl got me into this band "The Cribs" they are good. Other bands found tonight = Elefant, The Notwist, Moving Units. Oh and got the latest Mos Def album, skipped through it.. it was boooring.. bit dissapointed about that might have to give it another go.
I just stumbled across a really great blog, "SPOZ's RANT". Found it from the Adelaide Index page. Here is link -
http://spoz.blogspot.comThe dude writes really well and is good at details, the why's, has crazy good ideas etc etc and can articulate things well and has depth. I tried to subscribe to it in bloglines but fore some reason couldnt find a feed. Blog's like this make my dumb generalised ramblings seem handicapped. I tend to grasp overall ideas etc but not bother getting into the details and lose focus / attention. Maybe need more input, to read more, extend vocabulary, more depth.. anywho.. his blog is good go read it.
Heres a good post about Retro fashion revival from the Adelaide index:
http://www.adelaideblogs.com/index.php?messageID=233"Here's a theory: throughout their lives, people mostly remember their teenage years and early twenties. People who control the content in the media are usually in their mid to late thirties or early forties. When these people run out of new ideas, they look to the period in their lives they remember the most."
Good call. Im all for fashion rehashing, yeah so its been done before its not original, so what get over it, everything is a copy of something else anyway to some extent. I can't understand the argument some people take about "things not being original" it seems more of a judgement call to me. If you get stuck on the idea of something not being original then you may miss out on a lot of good content just for the fact that you never really look into it. Take off your "same old shit" glasses for a while and look into it for yourself. Imagine you are 17 years old, an age where a lot of people follow trends/are interested due to peers/whatever.. Ok stay with me here. You are in the body of a 17 year old but you have infact been alive on the earth for 1000 years, you have seen it all experienced every trend etc. Do you think you would get into anything or be excited by anything at all? music, clothes? probably not.. everything you see presently is old news. So what do you do, you don't get into anything at all (i dunno possible playout). Imagine if you never got into anything at all when you were a teenager, or the bands you love now, you never even gave a second thought to because it was nothing new, whether it be the idea behind it, the sound, whatever. You would miss out BIG TIME and is that a good thing? So don't be hating on the "trendy" kids who don't know any better, you were perhaps one yourself at one stage? Did you know any better back then? For if you hate, you miss the point that for them it is exciting, fun, new.
Anyway my rant on that was pointless in itself, everyone has their own opinions and viewpoints on things, based on their own personal thoughts/beliefs, we all focus on different aspects of things, whatever we feel suits/works for us best. I just think the whole "original" argument to a certain extent (not talking about blatant rip offs here) is old and used by people stuck in their ways/too old to care. I am sure that when I get to the point where Im no longer looking into "new" music anymore and my kids listen to bands that sound like bands of my day I will be all like oh no, you think this is new? its not new you fool! But to my kids it may be the most excitingly new sounding music / freshest clothes they have experienced and is that excitement in itself a bad thing? Hell no it is not. I dont know and I guess will find out eventually but for now I don't want to disconnect myself from "new" bands or clothes even if they are based on past day occurances. Is bitching original? no, is copying original? no. Pretty much everything has been done before to some extent and the rehashing will continue forever. Accept this and move on.
I welcome any comments about this, I know I may be missing out on a lot of different viewpoints and am interested in what you think about this stuff. Parents with kids.. fill me in, what's it like? Am I missing the point entirely, if so let me know. All I can do is write from my own personal experience/views/opinions and since I'm only 22 I may be missing the wisdom/overalls/stale thoughts? that come with age.
My body is feeling pretty tired right now. Saturday night was my friends David and Lee's birthday party at Lee's house. It was fun, got to see the Chill Bit film clip and It was really good, Zane you did a really good job, thumbs up all round. I drank Scotch and It knocked me on my ass. I was "tired out of it" drunk which kinda sucked, next time im going to drink beer. Its the drunk state where you feel no desire to do anything but sit down on your ass. We headed into Shotz which was pretty kool stayed out till 4am tho, crashed at Sara's house and only got 4 hours sleep so I am totalled right about now and my bones ache from the goon. So glad tommorrow is a pubic holliday, looking forward to being able to sleep in. Im finding it very hard to write now.. going over it is very detail orientated which Is what I told my Dad NOT to do when sending emails from his and mums overseas trip.
N e way. Acquired the Morrissey album tonight "You Are The Quarry (2004)". I really like it its good. My fav track on it is "02 - Morrissey - Irish Blood, English Heart". I recommend you find it and listen to it. Tired. Sleeeeeeep time. cya.

Steve took lots of happy snaps Saturday night and they can be viewed on his moblog (lots of pics of us drunk):
