Plates of Glass

It annoys me when some couple are dining or enjoying a coffee inside a cafe and they think that just because they are behind a plate of glass this gives them the opportunity to voyeur into the world outside the plate of glass. You see this all the time, couple on the inside who think they now have the cafe given right to stare you down. Its this total illusion that they are seperate from the "outside world" sorta thing whilst in a cafe. Also I have noticed that ppl take good looks at other ppl and voyeur whilst sipping coffee, the sip coffee i can now stare around the room and voyeur move. The ridiculousness of this is most apparent in the Adelaide MYER centre. There is this coffee/cafe place in the corner near the london tavern which is seperated by a plate of glass to give it the appearance that everything on the other side of the glass is "outside", gives it a real, authentic cafe vibe (pffft yeah right). I was walking past this place yesterday and as I walked past, glanced inside and met the gaze of a grey haired man of about 40, but it was not just a glance, this guy was gazing into my soul, it was if he thought he was sitting in the most expensive restaurant in town only he was only sitting in the myer centre food court. I wonder how long he will maintain eye contact I think, so i keep walking and don't look away. Im not backing down. HE DOES NOT LOOK AWAY! no... HE is the one behind the plate of glass, thus rendering himself untouchable. I wanted to punch the plate of glass where he was sitting to wake him up out of his fairy tale dissolutionment.
Bored/boring couples are often the greatest culprits when it comes to this. They have nothing to say to each other and are doing the restaurant thing because, well, its just what you do when your old, you dine at restaurants. Its not right/fair. If you are outside a cafe/restaurant you don't stand by the window gazing in, no, this would make the ppl on the other side of the window uncomfortable, well its the same thing of ppl on the inside, don't stare out! Look at each other, look at your food, a plate of glass does not give you the right to stare.

None of the above applies if you are drunk and are sitting inside Rundle St Hungry Jacks on a Fri/Sat night. Stare as much as you like, its your drunken Hungry Jacks given right.

The Death of a PSP... sorta

Today was feeling like a game of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories so go to play it on my psp and the damn thing wont load. No UMD's work in my psp now :( This sucks, but what sucks more is that my psp is not under waranty anymore, the 1 yr waranty ended september 27.
Does anyone know if a UMD cleaner would help this? Has anyone else had this happen?
Prolly have to call up service centre and see if its even worth repairing. Dammit!

Go Figurine

Today I was in Toys R Us and my eyes landed on Play Doh! Cool, wonder if i can mold a doll of one of my friends with this. To explain this, I have for the longest time wanted to immortalise my friends in doll form, if I could somehow add sound clips of their most used words and phrases that would be even better. So today I purchased this $10 kit of play doh and got to work. I chose my friend Karl as my no.1 doll. He has easy to characterize features and i could make him with the colours I had at my disposal. Here is how it turned out.

I made the face first

The finished Karl figurine

This is a real life photo of Karl

This took me a few hours I think, at the end of it I was mentally drained, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm not sure if this is the BEST way to make a doll of my friends but it works. Karl is wearing black converse chuck taylors with black laces, tight black jeans, black SYL (Strapping Young Lad) Tee and has thick bushes and long hair.

New Music
- The new Bloc Party album is okay, the song I keep going back to listen to is "The Prayer"
- A band I finally got around to checking out is "The Tough Alliance".
I have been recommended this band through last.fm and various ppl and so tonight i finally found the album, "The New School". The second track on the album, "The New School" reminded me a lot of something you would hear on The Knife - Silent Shout album, I instantly liked. Whilst I cannot see myself playing this album over and over, I do like it. More Swedish goodness. In fact the vocals are kinda annoying me already.

Fav songs from this album
- The New School
- Koka-Kola Veins
- Take No Heroes

This is a pic of "The Tough Alliance" for you ppl of who enjoy visuals.

Ray Ban Wayfarers... I do

Obsession, infatuation, desire, painful longing, these are a few words which describe how I feel about these sunglasses. Ray Ban Wayfarers. *summons wikipedia*

The Ray Ban Wayfarer is an iconic design of sunglasses available with polarized lenses and spring hinges, manufactured by Ray Ban since 1953.
The Wayfarer has been reported to be the best-selling style of sunglasses in history. They are a pop culture icon used by both famous celebrities over the past 50 years and as a general status symbol embodying "cool". The glasses were especially popular in the 1980s thanks to the movies such as The Blues Brothers and Risky Business and the television show Miami Vice.

Oh man, I want a pair of these sooooooo bad it hurts, i have wanted a pair of wayfarers for about a year now and only just recently I have seen celebs of all grades popping up wearing these! Im like dammit, i wanted these a yr ago and u have them now! There are some selling on ebay from $50-$100 AUD, that may be my best bet. Otherwise will look overseas for a company which ships to Aus. Dammit... i neeed these. Need them.

Does anyone have a pair they would like to give me or sell to me?
Reece! please tell me you have a pair of these at home somewhere that i can buy from you, please tell me you used to wear these in the days when you sported your mullet.
Oh god someone put me out of my misery.

Page Addict

I upgraded my blogspot blog to the new gmail beta version, will see if it’s better or not.

I recently stumbled across this firefox extension called Page Addict.
It is sweet and I am in love with it at the moment.

What it does is record visit statistics for pages you visit from the time you start your browser, then when you want to check your browsing stats (with percentages)… percentages make EVERYTHING better, you just go to www.pageaddict.com and it comes up with a list of most visited sites.

You can also choose to restrict your browsing of certain sites to a set, “minutes per day”.
I won’t be using this feature, no no, I just like to look at statistics based on my browsing/music listening habits.

Download Page Addict

From Mozilla Add-On: pageaddict extension
Or download it here: pageaddict.0.2.xpi

Acts of Charity

Sometimes I give my tea bags a second chance. Like after leaving it in the hot water for 3:00 minutes I will take it out and depending on how charitable I'm feeling on that day I might pop it back in the water for a little bit, a nice little, there u go, yeah u deserve it. enjoy youself.

I just found a really good artist, they are called LO-FI-FNK.
Ive been seeing this artist on key ppl's last.fm charts who are in the know and have been meaning to listen to them. Tonight i found their 2006 album, Boylife and I am loving it, am half way through listening to it now and so far its great but one song in particular has captured my heart-strings. The song is called "Steppin' Out"... wow! Love musical moments of discovery such as the one I just enjoyed.

I think I'm getting a Coke (coca-cola) addiction. I have been craving the caffeinated cola for the last couple of days.
